The Rose is now in the final stages of its refurbishment – a wall has been knocked through, the brewery housing has been built and the toilets have been transformed into the best in the city (as we have been told on many occasions!).

The brewery equipment has been bought and delivered and we are now just waiting for the final building work to be done before we can get cracking with the brewing!

When the brewery is in place then the fun will begin – we intend to start brewing small batches of the unusual – stronger or fruitier ales, or ales produced using different methods or ingredients from the norm – and to mostly bottle these beers.  We will encourage guest brewers and enthusiasic amateurs to help us with this, as well as offering ‘brewing experience days’ to anyone keen to have a go!

Alongside this we will add to our own range of bottled ales exciting and unusual bottled ales from around the world, particularly Belgium and the US, and The Rose (along with The Ketts) will become something of a ‘Beer Emporium’.
